How Rust-Solve Works Material Safety Data Sheet [MSDS]

SPRAY APPLICATION

Success using Rust-Solve rust stripper by dip and soak method or by spraying is assured if all surfaces being treated are KEPT WET with solution for sufficient time to allow all rust to completely melt & dissolve . The primary criteria for Rust-Solve to dissolve all rust is that rust being treated must be kept wet with solution and a temperature of 70F or better be maintained.

The following spray method works well for the home / hobbyist, or single Item projects. Place a catch sheet [plastic] under large items or vehicle to catch run off for re-spraying. Mix sufficient volume of rust stripper to do the work and apply the solution. A simple hand operated garden spray applicator works well, wet all rust areas and continue this process repeating every few minutes keeping all areas wet until all rust is dissolved.

For a commercial operation, de-rusting in a spray booth is a more practical method. A booth sized to de-rust large or small items including several items simultaneously is constructed.

Basic construction requires a R-Stripper holding tank which is positioned as a sump to catch and recycle run off R-S from spray operation. A low pressure submersible pump circulates R-S to spray nozzles positioned in the booth to wet all items. A continuous spray [ WETING ] of items in the booth is maintained until all rust is dissolved.

When rust is dissolved Isolate R-S sump and rinse down items with fresh water to remove rust sludge residue. Wet items with Rust-Inhibitor and dry.
Note: Use of Rust-Inhibitor is not necessary but is recommended unless items are to be painted or coated immediately following de-rusting

Heavy rust can take 2 to 4 hours of spray treatment however very large surface areas or multiple items can be de-rusted at one time and areas that are impossible to sand blast can be treated very effectively.

Note: Rust-Solve works best if its WARM, 70°F or plus is best. If an item is stored outside in a cold area allow the temperature to come up to 70°F prior to start of spray booth operation.
